We all know what a challenge it is to keep children engaged during travel. Here is a good activity that will keep them engaged with some learning thrown in as an added benefit. In this activity we will explore the forces of push and pull experienced by us, as the vehicle accelerates, decelerates and changes directions. The goal is to have a rough quantification of these forces and finally calculate effective force for the duration of the activity. Measuring of the force is by feeling the force and being aware of its impact. Quantification of the force can be left to the learners. Difference in scales of quantification by different learners can lead to interesting discussions, conclusions, arguments etc. More confusion – more opportunity for thinking!!
